About FLIPPA BOYZ

By Flippa Boyz, 2007-04-20

In the Southeastern town of Homerville, Georgia, The Flippa Boyz are like pine trees theyre everywhere. You cant pass a street corner in The Yard as its called, without hearing the sound of these local hip hop heroes rattling car windows or shaking house shutters. As the release of their first CD The Fatal Blitz approaches, The Flippa Boyz, J-Roc and DevilEyed, are ready to take it far from The Yard and around the world.
The Flippa Boyz are Greg Devil Eyed Lacey and Jeremy J-Roc Troy, childhood friends who knew from an early age that they had what it takes to make it in the music industry. J-Roc started rapping when he was only eight years old, and by the time he was 13 he had dropped sports and every other interest to focus on writing lyrics and freestylin. Around the same time, Devil Eyed was getting pulled into the idea of rap both as a way to help support his single mom, and out of a creative desire to express the realities of life. The two joined forces to form The Young Thugz, a group that lived up to its name with thuggish lyrics and wild-out style. For several years they perfected there skills via underground mixtapes and soaked in influences like Tupac, TI, DMX, and Bone Thugs N Harmony while constantly rocking the local freestyle battles. At age 16, J-Rocs troubles with school and other issues threatened to put an end to the groups promising future. Luckily someone had faith in J-Rocs potential. Uncle James J-Mac McLaughlin had faith, stepped in, and encouraged him to make some changes in his life. J-Roc took this advise and off to Dallas Texas he went. While living with J-Mac in Dallas for a year, J-Roc continued writing lyrics and also performed weekly with some of Dallass best underground artists.
He returned to Georgia a year later with a positive outlook on the future and immediately hooked back up with Devil Eyed and The Young Thugz, releasing the CDs "Enuff Said and Thuggin Out Loud. Again, J-Mac recognized the dedication, sacrifices, and potential in J-Roc and Devil Eyed and signed them to his newly-formed record label, WoodYard Entertainment. The Flippa Boyz first full-length album The Fatal Blitz a double CD loaded with laid back Southern slang and hard-hitting tracks is set to be released in November of 2006. The first single, Cool As a Ceiling Fan, will be takin it wide for the first time, introducing The Flippa Boyz to the world with a catchy hook, an incredible beat, and great lyrics. The Fatal Blitz also includes a sliced and screwed disc screwed by DJ Slice courtesy of Strobelyfe Entertainment.
With the hard-earned support of a record label, family, and all of their fans in southeastern Georgia, The Flippa Boyz are destined to succeed! Theyre confident that someday soon people far from Homerville, Georgia, will know their music and feel their lyrics while their hometown base can always rely on them to keep it real and provide some positive energy back to the community. As stated by The Flippa Boyz, we gone rep the yard like we pose too!

Using subtle shading between harsher, heavier doses of classic rock in the first 4 tracks, then progressive rock in (tracks 5 and 6) A SEMBLANCE OF PLATITUDE, and SKYSCRAPERS, and, finally, blues-fusion in (tracks 7 and 8) THE SPLAIN: A MOMENT OF CLARITY and U.S. ULTRAVIOLET BLUES, Albright proves to be one of the few artists who can shred and still be a fan of the blues.

“SURGE is about the American spirit,” says Albright, “...a love of freedom, and a willingness to defend it, fight for it, and WIN...because any other outcome is unacceptable.” Adroitly concluding, as if within a time-warp, with 2 dramatically introspective tracks (previously released) ONCE UPON A WAR and I’M SEEING CROSSES, Albright has produced an album of epic proportions, considerable depth, and surprising passion.

A MUST HEAR!
http:wwweddieleealbright.com
PURCHASE: CD Baby.com, Amazon, YahooMusic
DOWNLOAD/STREAM: Verizon, AppleiTunes, Rhapsody, MP3tunes

By Pete Teo, 2007-04-19

‘Elastic Truths For These Plastic Days...'

So says Pete Teo in his new album ‘Television’. 12 months in the making, this 11-track album is a significant departure from his debut ‘Rustic Living for Urbanites’. Gone is the soul-searching introspection that so lushly and effectively defined the earlier work, and in its place, a bitter-sweet critique of George Bush's America.

From the opening stanza of ‘Lost In America’, it is obvious that this is exceptional work. In lesser hands, a song that is premised upon the idea that America is ‘lost’ would likely resort to recrimination before long. Yet Teo eschews such easy conclusions. Rather, he invokes sadness for the loss of the American ideal while simultaneously decrying the excesses of her imperial intentions. This is rare sophistication. Not least because it gives the song a righteous power that mindless ranting could never attain.

Not that such deftness of touch would surprise fans of this intriguing singer songwriter. Known as much in his home country for his cerebral dynamism as his artistry, Teo’s work has always been characterized more by cerebral depth than sloganeering machismo. It is such that ‘Hide Your Gun’, an anti-war lament, devastatingly juxtaposes domestic peace with the utter despair of war. It is also such that ‘Carnival Hall’, an ironic parody of our media obsessed existence, is driven along by a dancing bass line that is as infectious as it is technically impressive.
Indeed, it is here where ‘Television’ stands furthest from the folk-infused sensibilities of its predecessor. From the imperious piano solo in ‘Sunday Best Shoes’, to the compound time dexterity of ‘Blow’, and finally the aching beauty of ‘Who For You?’, this album is punctuated by many moments of sheer musical virtuosity. While this is not surprising given the stellar cast of musicians assembled here, that such technical brilliance is never allowed to overshadow the emotional resonance of the songs is perhaps the most laudable feat of an admirable artist in great form.

QUBENZIS - XEN BREAKS, 11 tracks 75min, CD album

Engineering
Song writing
Performed by - Ricky Maard
Recorded in: - Spain, Andalucia.
Published by: - Qubetech.net (indie)

XEN BREAKS stands apart altogether, expressing a solid individual cross genre sound contesting for larger Sound systems.

This is handcraft. Almost everything you hear is original sounds created from scratch with an analogue synth called Clavia Nord Modular. The few remaining sounds origin from Roland JV1080 or mac-speech (voices). Processed with Cubase's virtual effects and recording studio.

While recording music a lot of different themes and sounds surface. On this album most songs are based on funky break beats or syncopated back beats. Though three of the songs are based on a straight kick (also see 'Cosmic Embryo Electronica' album).

By being a multi talented musician in combination with deep understanding of audio electronics it was perhaps only a question of time until something very personal and advanced would surface from this artist.
With the XEN BREAKS album you will sense the actual time embedded in the tracks. Qubenzis intend to expand perception by enhancing the sensory spectrum with electronic sounds. To which degree this is possible only the listener can tell :-)

TJ Martin BIO

By tjmartin, 2007-04-19

 Proven World-Wide Appeal
TJ Martin brings to the table a unique first in the music world. He got there by being influenced from groups like ? and The Mysterians, to The Lovin' Spoonful, Suzanne Vega, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Enya and many others.

After hearing one of his songs on the local college radio station, a lady contacted him and asked if he would be interested in writing music for her horses. She was referring to the equestrian sport of dressage (rhymes with massage), where they perform freestyles set to music, known as musical kurs. This is now also an official Olympic level competition. When he first began the project, his intention was to improve the quality of music that was being used for the sport. His main focus was to eliminate the unnecessary and distracting sounds of bad editing, and the splicing together of various songs which creates a ride that has no theme. To do this, original music had to be written to match the choreography for each particular ride. He then set out to compose a piece of music for each of the varying levels of freestyles, and have riders perform them. The result was award winning freestyles and the world's first CD of "Music for Dressage".

This is an album of powerful, acoustic, instrumental music in an adult contemporary, new age/smooth jazz style. Because of the easy listening sound, the music has since found its way to evenings with candlelight, glasses of merlot and your imagination. The album contains just over 40 minutes of music with 7 songs and a bonus track. People worldwide have been enjoying these mesmerizing sounds. Internet sales of this album continue to grow on a daily basis, in over 50 countries on 6 continents.

www.MusicForDressage.com

New Age Equestrian

TRAVERSE CITY, MI March 21, 2007 -- Whatever the genre--classical, rock, blues, country -- one thing all music has in common is the audience: human beings. TJ Martin's new CD is a bit different. 'The Judge at E' is not only for people, but for horses. It is music for dressage (rhymes with massage). Martin was a devotee of the sport which has been called equine ballet for the movements demanded of horse and rider. But one thing always bothered him: the clumsy segues between the pieces of music that were adapted for the event. "I thought I could eliminate that by having original music", he said. So that's what he set out to do. With a 15 piece ensemble including saxophone, flute, trumpet, keyboards, percussion and his guitar, he composed seven pieces of music. Not only were they meant for dressage, the pieces were composed specifically for individual riders and their mounts, though for the most part they could be adapted for others. "The recording session was done very differently. TJ sat in front of a video (of the horse and rider performing) playing his guitar", said John Knight, owner of Full Circle Recording Studio where the project was recorded. The pieces on 'The Judge at E' run between five-and-a-half and six minutes, with the exception of a catchy 2-minute, 40 second tune called "Samson's Prelude". The music embraces many genres: there is gentle romanticism, sprightly folk, jazzy interludes, even some quasi-flamenco. It holds together surprisingly well as an instrumental, acoustic new age/pop disc. "Chilled out and floating!!"
"Nice mood"

"Solid performing"

"Quite beautiful"

"Delicious!"
