Press Release:

By Ben Livingston, 2007-05-17

Ben Livingston's debut album "Second Orbit" is a sentimental journey down a few twisting roads of one man’s life. His clever lyrics are well crafted, soulful and galvanized with the fine musicality of Austin guitar slinger Bill Browder as producer. Like Livingston’s drawings and paintings, his lyrics are adaptations from journal entries, which add reflective mystique to this short compilation of only four songs (of which I wish there were more.) You might find hints of vintage Neil Young in his song “broken Man’s Dream” but this visual artist turned singer/songwriter seems more self possessed than one who spends time looking to derive a style from somewhere else. This CD is enhanced with funny short videos and interesting stories. There are also many photos of gorgeous neon sculptures and various other works of art that Livingston is famous for. This unique CD is definitely worth checking out. ----R. Kevin Jordan

Press: BASS PLAYER MAGAZINE-Kenny Weydener uses rock-flavored ostinatos to support melodic lead lines on his self-produced instrumental CD,"Project One". With just percussion backing him,Kenny invokes tons of tones with his modified P-Bass,using strums, strokes, plucks, picks, chords, and effects to broaden his tonal palette. "Project One" isn't a wankfest disguised as soloing. It's solo music. THIRD BASS(UK)-With seamless looping of percussion and layered chordal and melody tracks this New York based composer and bassist has created a dark and introspective set of instrumental pieces. If your looking for a label you could use 'Ambient' or even,at a push,'Drum'n Bass' but to do that would be to miss out on so much of the intricate beauty of Weydener's work. There is sensitivity at work here in pieces like 'J-31' or 'Wings' which contrast well with the rythmic, almost funk 'Black Hole or 'Smoothie'.Weydener reveals himself to be an artist in touch with both his instrument and his emotions. BASS PLAYERS FORUM (myspace group)- "Groundbreaking AND oldschool at the same time!" QUOTES: "An excellent bass player"-Chuck Rainey "A great effort"-Steve Bailey

Animations provided by MySpaceGraphicsandAnimations.com

Press Release

By Josh Aran, 2007-05-10

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW ALBUM FROM JOSH ARAN
Minneapolis, MN - October, 2006
Water to Wash Water Away, the new album from singer/songwriter Josh Aran, is here! Two years in the making, it is the follow up to the successful indie release, Between Us There Arose Happiness. While Josh shared the "Producer" title with drummer Justin Korhonen on the previous album, Josh took the helm on Water to Wash Water Away. Great players, including Erik Appelwick (Tapes ‘N Tapes, the Hopefuls), Sam Keenan, and Zach Miller (Put Down the Muffin), make this a great album with rich layers and lush melodies - think Wilco meets Elliott Smith meets Zeppelin. There’s even a beautiful acoustic cover, only available by digital download, of Def Leppard’s “Hysteria” that’s pure headphone bliss.
Water marks serious growth for Aran both in terms of his abilities as a singer/songwriter and his comfort level in the studio. “I really embraced the freedom of the studio this time,” says Aran. “Much of the album was recorded at home with a no-pressure vibe. We just took our time and had a great time making it. You just let it happen.”
