State of Man brings fireworks to New Year’s show for troops Premiere East Coast band tours through the Caribbean with Armed Forces Entertainment <p>After an incredible year of topping the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for eight consecutive weeks, State of Man will ring in the New Year for troops stationed in the Caribbean. State of Man will tour Cuba, Honduras, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas Dec. 28-Jan. 17. <br />State of Man has been together for six years and has opened for major acts like Kid Rock, Live, Stone Temple Pilots, No Doubt and Hoobastank. <p><strong>Pounding</strong> out music with the precision of a jackhamer operator, the raw power of a Scottish soccer hooligan and the ferocity of a disgruntled postal employee, <em>Victims of Circumstance</em> have already made a name for them selves in the central Florida music scene. Playong an original blend of punk, ska and straight rock riffs, the band is not afraid to inject endless pop hooks. According to lead singer/guitarist Mike Smyth, " We're huge music fans. With all the hard work we've put into developing ourselves as songwriters an musicians, why would we want to paint ourselves into any musical corners."</p><p>Forming in St. Petersburg during the fall of 2005, <em>Victims of Circumstance</em> are threegood friends who meet while workingat a debt relief agency. And these guys put their money where their mouths are. Last year, while building what was intended to be rehearsal studio in the back of their warehouse officies, the <em>V.O.C.ers</em> consturcted state of the art recording studio. The studio came out so good it is now a full time working studio with an in house engineer. " We built this great studio abd were afraid it wouldn't get used enough," says drummer Glenn Stewart." "We invite bands from local scene to come and record." And these "do it yourselfers" don't stop there. They have also put on a number of shows in Tampa.St. Pete night clubs and theatres. " We put on shows with bands we like," says bassist Brandon Vola, " We are really interested in helping to build the local scene.</p><p>Recently the boys linked up with <em>Mighty Mighty</em> Bosstone Tim " Johnny Vegas" Burton who is co producing their first full length album. <em>V.O.C.</em>are playing gigs in advance of the album's release, due in the fal. Linear 4x4 rhythms, low spectrum frequencies sometimes carried by very analogue thick homogenious sounds</p><br /><br /><p>This is handcraft. Almost everything you hear is original sounds created from scratch with an analogue synth called Clavia Nord Modular. The few remaining sounds origin from Roland JV1080 or mac-speech (voices). Processed with Cubase's virtual effects and recording studio.</p><br /><br /><p>On this album most songs are based on a straight kick with the syncopated back beats lingering behind or 'inside' the sound.</p><br /><br /><p>This is the third album by Qubenzis but the first with this particular style. With the Cosmic Embryo Electronica album you will sense a longing for a darker world as intercepted and translated into music by R.Maard</p><br />
